Being a Dominatrix is a state of mind. You can a little fairy boy and don the
mantle of Dominatrix, as long as you are ready to open yourself to dominant
female energy. While you can be dominant wearing a white bathrobe if you
have the presence, dressing the traditional Dominatrix part can help you play
your role to the hilt. This is especially true for budding Pro Dommes. Here are
some tips:
Hair: Think foxy red bob. Or Marilyn Monroe blonde. Or long Bettie Page black
hair. You want to go for something sexy and feminine. Wigs are great for
helping you set the tone.
Corset: This is essential to the domme look. You must show off the sacred
hourglass that blew men away century after century. It doesn’t have to be a
real boned corset from a fine purveyor, just something tight-fitting that you
look good in. Many sexy lingerie sets have something that looks pretty corset-
like.
Boobs: The tight line of the corset should lead up to the flowering of your
breasts. If you have none, make them up! It’s amazing what they can do with
silicone molding these days. Stuff the silicone in an attractive bra and you are
set. Too much cleavage is never enough.
Skirt: The skirt is playing a supporting role here. Just a simple short black
skirt
works well. Leather or PVC is a bonus. A long, tight-fitting skirt will also
look
good. Or wear a garter belt and stockings over tap pants or a thong.
Color: For beginning dommes, I unequivocally suggest black in all your
clothing and undergarment choices. An all-black outfit conveys power. Once
you are more comfortable domming, add color as an accent. A bit of red,
silver, or purple can enhance the mood. I do not suggest pink, as it is
traditionally a submissive color.
Footwear: I believe your footwear is the most powerful piece of your outfit. It
conveys the intense ritualistic side of domination. You will be making your
submissives kiss your footwear, after all. Black leather boots with heels are
the traditional footwear of the Dominatrix. You may also wear black spike
heels. I recommend a garter and stockings as well.
Makeup: Go for glamour, preferably with dark colors. Dark burgundy lipstick
and smoky eyes are always a good bet. Stay away from traditional “hooker”
makeup like bright pink lips and blue eye shadow. High arched eyebrows
complete your dominant look.
Punishment tool: You should always have some symbolic dominant tool at
hand. I prefer the classic look of a nice riding crop. Some Dommes prefer a
paddle or a flogger. Don’t hang ten tools off your belt; stick with the
understated but unavoidable presence of one high-quality punishment piece.
Spend some time easing into your outfit, reserving plenty of time in front of
the
mirror to check out how hot you are. Simply dressing the part will encourage
dominant feelings. With the right style, you are well on your way towards the
headspace of a true Dominatrix.
